Big Gay Road Trip to Tulsa

Net1 Tulsa

Fifteen NetworQers traveled to Tulsa, Oklahoma the first weekend in June to join in the Pride festivities sponsored by Oklahomans for Equality in beautiful downtown Tulsa. Pictured above is our intrepid Lawrence contingent joined by our two Tulsa-rific hosts Bud and Brian.  On Saturday, our group toured the Dennis R. Neill Equality Center and then spent the rest of the day in Centennial Park listening to music, attending Twisted Theater’s drag performance of the Golden Girls, and hanging out with the over 20,000 attendees of this year’s pride event. The highlight of the weekend was the Saturday evening parade through downtown Tulsa where the whole party concluded with a spectacular fireworks show, and the opportunity for everyone to sing along with Judy Garland’s rendition of Over the Rainbow.
